Borderline personality disorder
As a fashion student I was tasked to design and create a collection of clothing, the theme of which I was allowed to choose for myself.
I chose my disorder as the theme for this collection. The images in the gallery show the first dress in the collection and I intend to complete the collection in the future
How it began
When I began work on my collection I took a deep dive into what someone with BPD struggles with the most: I started researching the bad sides and all the triggers that there are. The biggest inspiration for the garment was how interchangeable and unstable a person can be. The most important quality of the garment would be how the wearer can use it in variety of ways depending on how they're felling. The garment represents a simple black and white colour pallet that uses that contrast to show how the mood of someone with BPD changes. The marble pattern represents the scars such an individual has, as well as their capacity to hiding them in order to blend in and not be hurt.
